In early 1988 Larry Karam was coming off a longtime stint as Vice President of Coleco toy company. At this time he has gained interest in purchasing a car wash in Connecticut but was willing to relocate if need be. At the same time his son Peter was gathering information about purchasing a quick lube oil change, he wished to open in Connecticut.
During Autumn that same year Larry met with a broker in Danbury who showed him a car wash that was currently for sale. While there the broker disclosed information about an oil change facility for sale that was less than 2 years old. After much thought, Larry approached his son and asked if he would join him with this venture as a family.
On November 4th that same year, Rapid Lube of Connecticut was born. A business that prided itself in being old-fashioned and simple. They wanted to take a step back from all the changing technology and use tried and true methods. Invoices and receipts handwritten like your Ma and Pop would have done. During the thirty years that Rapid Lube of Connecticut has been in operation, there have been many changes, but the constants have been Larry and Peter showing up for work every day. When you call and ask to speak with a manager you are speaking to an owner. Several employees have been with the company for almost as long as Larry and Peter themselves. Three of which who have been employed for 13, 23, and even 26 years. We hope customers find comfort in how some things don't change. Service, Quality, and Faces.
"Our customers are part of our family."
